This chair was commissioned by the Kenmore Museum in Fredericksburg, VA. It is a nearly exact replica of an original presently in the museum, made by Williamsburg cabinet maker Anthony Hay. His shop still stands as part of the Colonial Williamsburg Restoration. Its simple, yet elegant American Gothic design has stood the test of time and completely retains its stylish as well as unusual looks. As with all of our chairs, this chair is available in any of our standard finishes.

This chair style is one of the two chair styles commissioned by the Kenmore Museum in Fredericksburg Virginia. It is a virtually exact copy of a beautiful Philadelphia chair ca. 1778. In deference to the extraordinary quality of the original, we kept the through tenon and peg construction that is indicative of the best Philadelphia chairs. Legend has it, when Thomas Jefferson was visiting Campeachy Mexico he encountered this reading chair for the first time and fell in love with its comfortable design. After much difficulty, he managed to get a sample back to Monticello, where his artisans made the first copies. The design was passed down for generations. Now, we are the caretakers of that tradition, as we are the manufacturer selected by the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation to produce this chair today. It is available with your choice of three colors of leather, Green, Burgundy, or Black.

This straight leg Chippendale styled chair was the first in our line. The delicately carved, ribbon back splat is a perfect example of restrained Philadelphia styling of the late 18th Century. As with all of our chairs, this chair is available in any of our standard finishes.

Our New York Chippendale style chairs feature a clean line, ribbon back, with carved accents along the top rail and arms. The ball & claw leg, adorned with more hand-carved accents, completes the classic Chippendale look. As with all of our chairs, this chair is available in any of our standard finishes.

These chairs feature a solid mahogany back splat shaped according the classic Queen Anne style. We have added hand-carved details on the knees and on the edges of the top rail's scroll work, as was evidenced in the finest chairs of the period. This Philadelphia Chippendale styled chair is available with straight legs (as shown) or with curving, ball & claw legs. This chair shows off the beautiful rococo styling so often associated with Philadelphia Chippendale style. A particularly interesting dining room can be set with side chairs with the carved straight legs, and arm chairs matched to the set, save for the more ornate ball and claw legs. This chair was taken quite closely from a George III original that we particularly liked. It has the authenticity of near reproduction styling, while showing an unusual amount of verve. The entire chair is so full of carving accents and detail that its overall effect is less of a dining chair, and more of a hand-carved work of art. As today's dining rooms have become squarer in their design, customers are more and more opting for round dining tables. The swirl mahogany inlaid, curved top rail of this English Regency style chair is a wonderful compliment to these round tables. The style is not new. It was taken almost exactly from English Regency originals found in a Connecticut antique store. The simple beauty of this chair has made it one of our most popular styles. The Irish Chippendale dining chair is a time honored design that has been popular for centuries. Our rendering of this wonderful piece is true to original designs. Highly decorated with carvings across the top rail, down the sides, and all over the legs, matched with the Irish back splat, it is no wonder this chair's popularity hasn't waned since its creation in the mid 18th Century. This chair is not a reproduction. Customer requests led us to modify the Regency chair with the addition of a carved back splat. The look was something totally different, but equally attractive, and we have kept them in our line ever since. Our customers guided us well.
